the grande list - week of April 12 2021

Hello world!

Hope everyone is doing well. We are under lockdown for the third time this year in Ontario, and it was been such blow. I'm glad it fell during a time of heavy duty studying, so I'm not sad about missing anything fun, but I'm sad for everyone else. I've been agonizing about postponing my July wedding for months now, and it's getting down to the wire to make the final decision. *sigh. I feel for all the COVID brides right now, it's not a fun situation to be in especially if you're an international couple. 

Anywho, here is my grande list for the week:

1. There is a fantastic documentary online regarding the super-rich in Central Africa. It is the most eye-opening video I've seen in a long time. I would be open to discuss it if anyone is interested. So many parts to dissect. 

2. I've fallen into another fantasy series during my study breaks, and I'm on the second novel of Shadow & Bone by Leigh Bardugo. It's good so far; would give it a 7/10. Nice setting, story unfolding at a good pace, and the characters are well-developed. 

3. Those of you who are clean freaks - here is a great list of cleaning hacks. I have the bamboo charcoal sacks under my kitchen sink for the past year and really like it!

4. I usually do a recipe for the week, but today I'm putting an aspirational dessert (strawberry lemonade cake) that I will make ONE DAY. I am hunkered down this week, so no fun cooking is happening. 

5. Oliver Burkeman's - 8 Secrets to a (fairly) fulfilled life.
