Recent Favorites for 2019: Make-Up and Fashion

2019 make up

Heya everybody!

I've had a few lovely favorites recently that I must share with you. They have improved my days, and sometimes provided that little extra bounce in my step in the morning! I hope some of you may find them as useful as I do. Without further ado...

Lancôme Hypnose Drama
My previously favorite mascaras are two from Lancôme: Hypnose for lengthening and Monsieur Big for volume. This new mascara is basically the best of both worlds - it has the volume and the lengthening effect I love from those two mascaras. Such a holy grail piece! My eyelashes look fake!

Dior Waterproof Pro Liner
This liner is fantastic - it stays on the whole day, doesn't drain down your face, and has lasted me already 6 months. It's pricey but worth it just for quality and longevity. I couldn't say enough good things about this product. I'm such a sucker for finding a great item, because I will stick with it forever (I still repurchase Smashbox liquid concealer and have used it regularly for 10 years - it's the best for covering blemishes especially if that's all the make-up you put on your skin after sunscreen).

professional coat, fall coat 2019

Oasis Coat
I am obsessed with this coat. It makes you look so sharp even if you're just wearing a fleece sweater and jeans underneath. It goes well with quirky hats and accessories - I've had a ball wearing all my fun berets this fall and bright bags. It's incredibly warm as well. I am hoping to purchase a camel version because of its versatility. Unfortunately, it's sold out online but for those of you who live in England, this UK brand is available in some department stores as well. The Oasis store online ships to multiple countries and has some great coats in different styles/colours.

Frye Leather Melanie slip-on
These had zero break-in time and look great with a pair of skinny jeans or pants. I have a beige version for summer and I'm hoping to get a cognac or black version for fall. If you're Canadian you can also pick them up at the Bay. Depending on my outfit and what service I'm on, I also wear them to work. Great investment.

Carmex lip balm
Now that winter is around the corner, my lips have been much drier than usual. I've used a multitude of lip products to keep my lips from cracking without needing consistent reapplication. I also want balm to do its job, and make my lips softer over time rather than keep me at status quo. I have been a huge fan of Carmex lip balm for 5 years, there are active ingredients in the USA version that are banned in Canada. I've been using the Canadian version for a few days now and it has been pretty good. The true test is when I feel the tingle of a cold sore coming, because I swear this balm has stopped it 9 times out of 10! I can't believe I've wasted so much money on lip products that don't live up to the hype. I only wish this had SPF and it would be perfect! The SPF version that I enjoy is the SuperGoop version, but it could be more moisturizing.

That's it for now! I hope you have time to treat yourself to a few of these goodies. I love them!

Cheers,
Chantelle
