First off, I totally adore the awkwardness of this video. The hesitant facial expressions, the dorky dance moves.. all of it. It makes them so human. And it was shot at Jean Paul Gaultier's house. He looks like a sly cheshire cat at the beginning. Oh sorry, did I mention Dragonette was Canadian? Yea, she is kick ass.

I am totally impressed with a few etsy shops I have come across. I saw a thread on the TFS and decided to waste some time clicking links. This shop is pretty amazing: reddoll. I can post more of my favourite shops if you would like. I have 6 saved on my bookmark bar.

I have taken my new minimalist obsession and applied it to my macbook and iphone. I've deleted most of my apps, and kept only the 20 songs I listen to constantly (this month). As for my macbook, there are no folder/icons on the screen, and I cleaned up my dock. This makes me feel so relaxed...

And I'm aware this is tres late, but here are a few of my favourite shots of the Chanel Couture Collection. My friend H told me to take a look at it, so I actually spent a couple days getting back into my girly side in order to appreciate it to my full capacity. The collection makes me think of Harajuku girls sent to study in France, during the early 1900's. I totally dig that.

Hey guys, this is going to be a discombobulated post because I have a lot of things I want to mention.

First off, here are the doc marten-esque shoes I mentioned last post- they would be the only ones I'd slip my feet into. Keep in mind, I'm not a fan of dm's. I'm far too skinny for them, leading me to resemble a wannabe BAMF clown. However, these seem remarkably workable if bought in half a size too small. -source unknown

Next order of business.. My hair is not growing fast enough. I know, I'm so narcissistic. Why is it always about you Chantelle? Phooey. Look at these filles. Especially the one with disturbingly long, beautiful wavy (golden..hence angelic?) hair. That bastard. -source unknown

Can I get a 'hell ya' from my former and current ballerinas? I'm telling you.. It would be completely impractical to dance in these [V&R creations], but the fun factor would hit 11 on a 10.0 scale. 'Oh moi? I'm just pirouette-ing through life, swinging tutus over shoulders, and partaking in laser wars.'

I've been obsessing over the minimalist life lately. Maybe for the wrong reasons. I'll never give up consumption, or reduce my dietary repertoire to tasteless meals and a box of bananas. [I may have exaggerated a tad, but you get my gist]. However, a minimalist's ability to reduce his or her material needs to the core basics is fascinating. There is no clutter anywhere. Not in their make-up bags, not inside their closets, not in their cars, not even under their bathroom sinks. Voilà, that is what I would like to achieve. I have taken my wardrobe clean up to a whole new level; I've been chucking sweaters, and jackets and jeans out nearly every day.... and lets not get started on the beauty products- 80% are in the poubelle. Anywho, my point was: getting rid of all this crap is goddamn liberating! Here's one blog on the minimalist lifestyle: mnmlist.

Lastly, and most importantly, is the .Free Clothing Haiti Benefit Tee - 100% of the proceeds from these shirts will go to the relief effort in Haiti. The company is donating to lifeline missions. I sincerely urge you to check out the website and buy one of these tops (gray or blue). I'll be purchasing mine after I pay my visa bill tomorrow afternoon. I'd like to know what you guys think about the new layout- I told you I became obsessed with the minimalist look! I'll be getting around to posting up links on my sidebar for those who requested. You probably noticed my "reactions" buttons are gone. I don't think they blend well with the layout, however, they were a great of gauging lazy people's thoughts. And yes, I do realize they made it easier to get negative feedback, but it was I who provided that option on purpose. Constructive criticism! Now you must write it! Adieu, the small font hides the vastness of this post.

  I can't stop thinking about Tisci's Pre-Fall 2010 for Givenchy. I think I could wear these pieces for the next ten years. I really admire that, because it motivates one to invest!


These following two are my absolute faves! I actually have the one on the right saved as my desktop background. I feel like dumping out my closet and replacing it with a clean cut and sophisticated, black white and grey wardrobe.

I bookmarked a lot of flickr accounts a few days ago; here's a second favourite of mine: bitterlemon

Oh man, I was contemplating on getting a flickr account whilst choosing what pictures to post.. then I realized "Wait. I do have a FLICKR account. Merde." I seriously womp at posting photos. I like looking at pretty things, recreating them on my own is so much pressure. OHHH THE PRESSURE. Haha.. and I tend to be quite the lazy bugger. C'est la vie!

Oh and I'm trying to find this Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask that everyone and their grandmother seems to be using. I hear it's dirt cheap and quite effective [annnd that I may be able to nab one at Sally's in Toronto for a measly 5 bucks]. I've got nothing to lose! Also,I'm thinking about putting together a hair post soon, since I may be one of the very few people that uses the products I do. Anywho, peace punch captain crunch! I'm out homies!

  I follow a wicked beauty guru on youtube who has the suavest voice in the world - Michelle Phan, for my fellow youtube addicts. Not the point, what I meant to say was 'Michelle has a wicked video on the Bad Romance Goo-Goo eyes make-up.' You should check it out if you're curious as to how they did the look, and graphically enhanced her features. I thought it was the bee's knees. 
[Side note: I checked out Lady Gaga's interview with Oprah, and teared up comme un bébé. *sniff sniff* I love weird people.]

Anywho, one of the links I want to share with you from her latest carousel was Daniel Laporte. She has a self-realization blog called White Hot Truth, and it's packed with information that will affect they way you go about life more than my fascination with pictures will. A little self-deprecation I'm aware, but alas it is the truth. I liked her "list of things to stop doing" idea- I'm going to make one myself this weekend.
The second link is to the the 8 Irresistible Principles of Fun. I wanted to embed the video into this post but it wouldn't allow me. I love #5. I'm saving this video to watch every two weeks. I always find self-help anything loses its effectiveness 14 days after you've read or watched 'it', so I always keep something encouraging and inspiring on my desktop to see everyday.
You guys know I love Youtube and all, so I'm sharing another love: Daniel. He makes me laugh. H and moi spent an hour or so last summer looking at his past vlogs (can you believe it was that long ago already, H? Jeezuss!) I love his rants on nightclubs. And Youtube.. I looove Youtube; it's unhealthy, really.
