If I was a store, I would be this one.
I found the concept quite original: coffee and leather shoes.

Oliver Stalman

I stumbled across Oliver Stalman's work
while I was browsing through Ben Trovato's blog.
I think it's quite captivating.
*P.S. Ben's blog is fantastic. It's focused on fashion photography,
and very well organized.

Junction Arts Festival

Saturday, September 26, 2009
I passed by the Junction Arts Festival a few weeks ago to check out one of my bff's belly dance performances.
Luckily, I found a few interesting trinkets and a cute vintage store along the way. It was such a lovely day!

So I stumbled across this product while I was browsing the internet for good face masks... and I'm completely stunned/still skeptical. It's not by a reputable name brand, but it's got photo and video evidence that it works. By the looks of it, it seems incredible. And it's not expensive, so I don't think I have much to lose purchasing it. I find it interesting that it uses charcoal. This to me seems a very unique way of harnessing its properties. I kinda, sorta love the noire-ness of it all too ^-^.
application procedure: here
time: 30 mins
body location: use wherever blackheads are! [not just nose]
magic ingredient: active charcoal -
active charcoal has the ability to deeply cleanse and purify pores
by absorbing impurities. Active charcoal also has an antiseptic and balancing effect on the skin.
FAQ: Why is the mask better than Pore Strips?
Pore strips may seem to remove blackheads, but pore strips contains glue ingredients that over the long run causes irritation & reduced effectiveness. Pore strips also cause enlarge pores. This peel contains oil-absorbant charcoal & mild ingredients that are suitable for all skin types.

- video here. [I think it's so cool, but the ignorant & childish comments on the video annoyed me a tad. If you're not into beauty, why are you watching it? Silly, silly.]

Update 2017: Nowadays anyone and their mom can find peel off blackhead masks thanks to Korea's skincare innovations and new exports to North America. Here are some amazing ones, some of which I've tried myself and love! YEStoCharcoal, Lanbena, Defining Stylezm], Nylea
I've enjoyed charcoal products significantly over the past two years, a major staple being the Biore Charcoal Wash, and their self-heating charcoal mask (omg it feels amazing and your skin glows after!).

Anyways, I thought this was different and decided to share. I still don't know if I should buy it. I don't have a terrible blackhead problem, but I am obsessed with getting my skin perfect, so maybe I will. Onto something completely unrelated. I love Ashley's little knot atop her head & MK's quirky Chanel shades.
A plus,

[-] I know I haven't done a love-theme post in a while! Sorry girls! *-*
You may not be her first, her last, or her only. She loved before she may love again. But if she loves you now, what else matters? She’s not perfect - you aren’t either, and the two of you may never be perfect together but if she can make you laugh, cause you to think twice, and admit to being human and making mistakes, hold onto her and give her the most you can. She may not be thinking about you every second of the day, but she will give you a part of her that she knows you can break - her heart. So don’t hurt her, don’t change her, don’t analyze and don’t expect more than she can give. Smile when she makes you happy, let her know when she makes you mad, and miss her when she’s not there.

Speaking of cute lovey things, my cousin just got engaged! Woooo! I'm so happy!

Here are a few online vintage stores I found recently. All of them are etsy and extremely accessible.
I did a similar post a year ago; thought I'd do an updated version.

I'm just addicted to capes lately. Where can I find a nice one? I really like the one from Absolutely Oblivious but you can only get it in Australia. *sigh

I know A.Wang's collection above was for spring.. but it's totally kick-ass for early fall. The food poisoning is easing slowly. My abdomen is still a bit ouchy, but better than Tuesday! For any of the Brazilian readers, or fans of Brazilian novelas, I'm loving "Viver a Vida".

+ I just came across a new youtuber that I'm in love with. Kalel, she's one of the make-up gurus, but she's completely OCD with school and I find it highly amusing (I also find the fact that she dyes her own hair totally wicked, her grandma, aunt and mom are hairdressers). And she looks like a cute anime character ^-^

Cheers lasses!

Hey guys,
Guess what? I got food poisoning today and boy am I ever grumpy [insert moody sad face here]. I will take 8 hours of school over being bedridden & in pain any day. Even an exam day. Hihi! ^-^ Hope you are all doing well. For you Torontonians out there, the ROM is housing a Vanity Fair photography exhibit. Exciting I know! I've been thinking about buying a kick-ass body suit, but I've yet to find one I actually like. I do think the second photo has a pretty one, but I don't know where to find it. * le sigh* The weather is cooling down in Toronto, and I'm dreading my discrete layering (aka. the non-decorative, hidden layers). I usually do things in threes; skirt = 2 pairs of leggings + 1 pair of tights, pants = 1 pair of leggings + 1 pair of tights + 1 pair of pants...etc
Woooo..... not -_- I don't like the cold.

P.S. How is the font size and blog layout for all of you? I keep forgetting to ask, because it appears perfectly aligned and neat on my mac, however they're meant to function that way because they're very media/visual computers. Things sometimes appear a little skewed when I check out my site on my PC.

Here are a few shots from NYC. I took tons more but they're just typical touristy photos, very uninteresting for a native New Yorker. As you can see in the first picture, my hair is officially fried. I'll most likely be cutting a chunk of it off because it looks terribly unhealthy. Those of you who have been followers for a while will know that I was in the midst of growing it to my bellybutton. Alas, it will not be occurring anytime soon. However, I have been thinking about getting extensions, since I'll have to chop off around 3 inches minimum. *sad sigh*

Ta-ta! Going to the Junction Arts Festival today to see one of my bffl's belly dance!
